Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food - Hippocrates
Join us for the Spirit of Blue on February 21, 2017. An evening of entertainment to help raise funds and awareness for Scleroderma.
One of the most frustrating challenges scleroderma patients face is that there is very little recognition of this disease. It affects over 350,000 people in North America, however, unless this illness has come into your life directly, chances are that you have never heard of it. Our hope is to raise awareness and much needed funding for patient support.
Where will the money go?
The funds raised will be allocated to helping Canadian scleroderma patients understand their treatment options. Through the Scleroderma Society of Canada, we will make more information available on the traditional medical approach, as well as, the multiple alternative modalities that can be beneficial in pain management, healing and overall quality of life. Education is key to helping patients make informed decisions on the types of treatments available to them.
My journey to find holistic methods to heal my body began. I started with what I knew best and completely altered my diet by removing all inflammatory foods to help me manage the physical pain and aching. Then, I sought out Herbalists, Acupuncturists, Osteopaths, Homeopaths and Naturopaths to get their opinions on how to best support my body and encourage it to heal. I have tried so many modalities and therapies. Some of which worked for me, and some did not. The constant change though, was that I was mentally committed to physical healing. Our minds and our thoughts are very powerful. This I know for certain.Read More
